  • 1 cup suji/semolina
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 4 cups water
  • 1/2 cup ghee
  • 1/4 tsp. Cardamom powder
  • 1 tbsp. Shredded almond


  • In a pan, melt the ghee. Add the suji and stir fry over low heat.
  • At the same time in another pan.heat a water. Then off flame.
  • Roast suji until golden brown. It will take anywhere between 8-10 mintues.
  • Slowly add boiled water and mix by stirring constantly.
  • Stir and cook to avoid any lump formation. Increase flame to medium and cook until all water gets absorbed. Add sugar and cardamom powder. Stir until sugar dissolves and it has semi-solid consistency. Add almonds and mix. The suji halwa is ready to serve.
