Paneer Do Pyaza, as it goes by the name, contains onions chopped in two styles, mixed with paneer and gravy.


  • 250gm paneer
  • 1 onion diced
  • 1 onion sliced
  • 1 medium tomato chopped
  • 1/2 cup freshly made tomato puree
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 1 tsp dhaniya powder
  • 1 tsp turmeric
  • 1 tsp garam masala powder
  • A pinch of kasuri methi
  • 1 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 4-5 tbsp oil
  • 1 tbsp jeera
  • 1/4 cup cream


  • In a pan heat oil and cook diced onions till they become soft and pink. Take them out on a paper towel and keep them aside.
  • In the same pan heat oil and add jeera. When jeera starts to change color add onion slices and cook till they become translucent. Now add ginger garlic paste and cook till the raw aroma of ginger and garlic is gone.
  • Now add chopped tomatoes and tomato puree.Cook till you see oil coming out from the sides. Add red chili powder,turmeric, dhaniya powder, garam masala powder,kasuri methi and salt. Mix everything well.
  • Add fresh cream or malai and mix everything well. Add diced onions and paneer. Mix everything and simmer the sabzi for couple of minutes.
